About the role:
Join us as our Global Material Management Lead and help strengthen Takeda’s resilient, compliant, and efficient end-to-end supply chain by shaping and implementing global material management standards, policies, and governance frameworks.
How you will contribute:
You will lead initiatives covering material governance, change control, and standardization across Takeda’s manufacturing network, external partners, and supply chain functions.
Collaborating with Global Manufacturing, Quality, Global Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing Science, and Regulatory, you will ensure materials are managed in line with GMP requirements and Takeda quality standards while enabling supply continuity and operational excellence. You are entitled to:
- Contribute to the development and deployment of global policies, standards, and procedures governing material management across Takeda.
- Ensure consistent application of material master data standards, specifications, and classifications across systems and manufacturing sites.
- Align material management practices with Takeda’s global supply chain and manufacturing strategies.
- Implement material segmentation and sourcing concepts to strengthen end-to-end supply chain resilience.
- Establish global governance forums and decision-making processes for material-related topics.
- Define performance standards, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead the implementation and ongoing improvement of global material change governance processes.
- Ensure robust cross-functional assessment of material changes, including their impact on product quality, patient safety, regulatory filings, and lifecycle plans.
- Partner with Quality and Regulatory functions to ensure compliance with global change control expectations and health authority requirements.
- Identify and execute material standardization opportunities across Takeda’s product portfolio and manufacturing network.
- Support initiatives to reduce material and SKU complexity and harmonize specifications and approved material lists.
- Contribute to cost efficiencies, improved supply robustness, and reduced regulatory complexity.
- Improve material master data governance and standardization within ERP/MRP systems.
- Drive material sourcing automation and progress toward touchless execution from source to pay.
- Define digital initiatives that enhance visibility, analytics, and decision-making.
What you bring to Takeda:
- A master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; an advanced degree such as an MBA or MSc is preferred.
- More than 10 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical supply chain and/or material management.
- Strong experience in global supply planning and material lifecycle management.
- A proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders, including globally distributed teams and manufacturing sites.
- Experience with advanced planning systems and digital planning tools.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, material specifications, and regulatory considerations.
- Advanced knowledge of materials used in pharmaceutical process industries.
- Advanced understanding of GMP and regulatory requirements related to material management.
- Strong analytical, modelling, business, and strategic-thinking capabilities, with the ability to translate material sourcing considerations and complex data into actionable business decisions.
- Deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High resilience, accountability, and execution discipline.
