Job Description
OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE
The Global Process Expert (GPE) plays a critical role in the successful integration and optimization of Takeda’s business transformation efforts. Acting as a subject matter advisor and cross-functional facilitator, the GPE ensures alignment, consistency, and excellence in execution across teams and regions. Key responsibilities include:
- Define detailed, domain-specific business requirements to ensure that system design and configuration aligns effectively with business needs, applying full knowledge of industry practices and internal standards.
- Ensure adherence to policies and regulatory compliance, drawing from experience to interpret guidelines and evaluate operational impact across diverse business scenarios.
- Support and implement process innovations and transformation initiatives, demonstrating sound judgment in selecting the most effective methods for execution and adoption.
- Support alignment, governance, and adoption of process improvements across stakeholder groups, coordinating workstreams independently and under general direction.
- Work in specific workstream task execution, actively engaging the SME community to ensure quality outcomes, and at times, leading small project teams or mentoring junior contributors.
- Support change impact assessments for their functional area, evaluating data and organizational implications with a focus on integration and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate closely with adjacent functions to support cohesive E2E process improvements, leveraging expertise to influence long-term objectives.
- Champion organizational readiness through execution of change management plans, readiness assessments, and scenario-based testing.
- Foster engagement with regional and local stakeholders to drive alignment and support for change initiatives, often acting as the primary point of contact for their area of expertise.
SCOPE
As part of Takeda’s S/4HANA-enabled transformation, the Global Process Expert (GPE) plays a key role in driving process excellence within their specialized domain. The GPE supports in developing, optimizing, and maintaining global process standards. They ensure alignment across regions, promote adoption of industry best practices, and enable operational consistency. This role is instrumental in delivering end-to-end process improvement, efficiencies and sustainability.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
The following accountabilities ensure the GPE plays a pivotal role in the successful migration to SAP S/4HANA while maintaining process efficiency, compliance, and alignment:
Process Standardization & Optimization
- Develop, maintain, and improve global standardized processes within their domain, applying solid knowledge of industry practices and general principles.
- Identify and implement optimization opportunities, applying sound judgment to integrate process-related best practices and ensure alignment with business goals.
Support for GPOs
- Act as a key support to Global Process Owners by contributing to the development and maintenance of global process standards.
- Collaborate with GPOs to ensure processes reflect defined objectives and comply with internal policies and procedures.
Requirements Definition
- Define detailed, domain-specific requirements that ensure SAP S/4HANA system capabilities align with operational needs.
- Translate moderate-to-complex business scenarios into actionable functional specifications, contributing to design reviews.
- Support solution evaluation and design alignment, ensuring system effectiveness through structured input and validation.
Knowledge Sharing & Training
- Serve as a subject matter contact for knowledge transfer across functions and geographies, helping build cross-functional understanding.
- Train or informally guide teams to adopt and apply global processes effectively, supporting local adaptation as needed.
Testing & Validation
- Support all testing phases, especially UAT, by validating system behavior against defined process requirements.
- Provide input into issue resolution and adjust functional requirements where appropriate.
- Assist Data Business Owners in ensuring accurate data transformation and integrity during migration to the new platform.
Continuous Improvement
- Monitor process performance using defined KPIs and metrics; identify improvement areas through routine review and data interpretation.
- Promote innovation within established frameworks to enhance transformation outcomes and support departmental project goals.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
Education
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Supply Chain Management; Business Administration / Operations Management; Information Systems / Data Management; Industrial Engineering; Logistics / Operations or Finance or Accounting
Skills
- Expertise in negotiation, program management, and Continuous Improvement strategies.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, independently applying solutions to complex scenarios.
- Advanced knowledge of demand planning and forecasting, optimizing processes for efficiency.
