About the role:
The Data, Digital, and Technology Investment Lead is a member of DD&Ts Portfolio Strategy team, with two primary responsibilities: (1) Work with business and technical stakeholders to build and maintain the DD&T investment portfolio, through strategically-aligned, business-relevant investment initiatives, and (2) Perform analyses and draw insights from the DD&T investment portfolio, identifying optimization opportunities and preparing reports for leadership.
How you will contribute:
Work with stakeholders
- Act as the point of contact for stakeholders of DD&T investment initiatives (initiative owners, product/platform owners, governance leads, and Finance Business partners)
- Understand proposed DD&T investment initiatives from a strategic, technical, financial, and resourcing perspective
- Guide stakeholders in structuring investment initiative submissions, collecting relevant information into project management tools (Apptio Target Process), developing robust business cases (including objectives and key results (OKRs), cost to achieve, value generation, timing, technical requirements, resourcing, and risks), and bringing proposals through relevant governance reviews
- For ongoing projects, conduct regular meetings with key stakeholders for status updates on initiative progress, risks, and metrics, and communicate these to the Portfolio Team leaders
- Provide transparency of resource needs, manage interdependencies, facilitate escalations, and communicate issues to Portfolio Team and functional business partners
- Ensure program and project teams understand and comply with applicable governance policies and processes
Work with the Portfolio Strategy Team
- Bring an enterprise mindset to optimizing the DD&T investment portfolio, applying an understanding of DD&T and business strategic priorities, financial goals, opportunities for consolidating similar initiatives, and resourcing capacity
- Contribute to building, maintaining, analyzing, and drawing insights from the DD&T-wide investment portfolio, creating a team perspective to drive leadership discussions around resourcing, prioritization, and tradeoff decisions
- Work to continuously improve DD&T’s portfolio management process, tools, and governance
What you bring to Takeda
- Masters degree in Computer Science, Life Sciences, Business, or related subject
- Minimum 10+ years of information management and/or project management-related work (e.g., portfolio management, project/program management, financial governance, or related roles) in a technology-focused environment
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with portfolio management tools (especially ATP and PowerBI), their capabilities, and their integration with other IT and financial management tools.
- Proficient in stakeholder management, capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders in various business and functional areas
- Strong communication skills: Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively and consistently with technical stakeholders. Team-oriented. Excellent interpersonal skills and adept at verbal, written, and slide-based communication.
- Enterprise thinking: Understands Takeda’s strategic direction and priorities, staying informed with organizational initiatives and priorities
- Flexibility and resilience: Ability to adapt quickly to change, interest in learning new things, and ability to work with/through ambiguity
- Experience with IT projects: Experience with IT projects from start to end. Strong knowledge of information management, data quality, data constraints and governance frameworks
- Language: Business English
- IT Skills: Office 365 suite including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams etc.
