Job Description
Objective / Purpose:
- Lead the HVAC discipline within the GCC and ensure delivery of high-quality engineering services for pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
- Build and develop HVAC engineering capabilities, talent, and technical expertise within the team.
- Drive engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement through digital and data-driven engineering practices.
- Ensure HVAC designs meet GMP, quality, regulatory, safety, sustainability, and business requirements.
Accountabilities:
Leadership:
- Lead, coach, and develop HVAC engineers.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, succession planning, and capability development.
- Manage discipline workload, resource planning, and delivery priorities.
Engineering Delivery:
- Accountable for HVAC engineering deliverables across project phases.
- Ensure designs are fit for purpose, operable, maintainable, and scalable.
- Coordinate interfaces with Process, Utilities, CSA, Automation, Digital Factory, and CQV teams.
Quality, Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure compliance with GMP requirements, Takeda standards, and applicable industry regulations.
- Ensure designs align with ISO standards, cleanroom classification requirements, EHS requirements, and engineering best practices.
- Lead technical reviews, quality assurance activities, and lessons learned.
- Support regulatory inspections, audits, and quality investigations as required.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Drive standardization, modularization, and reuse of engineering solutions.
- Promote digital engineering, innovation, and data-driven decision making.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, sustainability, and engineering quality.
Education, Behavioural Competencies and Skills:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Master's Degree preferred.
Experience:
- 10+ years of HVAC engineering experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated industries.
- Experience across Concept, FEED, Detailed Design, Construction Support, and Commissioning.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and project delivery.

- Cleanroom HVAC design and environmental control systems.

- Knowledge of ISO cleanroom standards, EU GMP Annex 1, ASHRAE, ISPE Baseline Guides, and applicable industry codes and regulations.
- Engineering design software, BIM, and digital engineering tools.
