How One Leader Champions Career Development Across Takeda
Meet Rari Hilditch, Communications and Engagement Lead for Global Learning. Rari’s position offers a unique focus on career growth, lifelong learning opportunities and our enabling technologies. We sat down with Rari to hear how her work supports fostering our culture of ongoing development.
What first drew you to Takeda?
I joined Takeda because it allowed me to reconnect with the work I truly love doing. Before joining, I found myself chasing job titles and moving further away from the things that bring me joy—the work that I love. Joining Takeda was the reset I needed, and it’s been one of my best decisions!
Can you tell us about your current role? What excites you most about your day-to-day?
No two days are ever the same, which keeps things interesting! Whether I’m drafting communication plans, writing articles and social posts, leading meetings, moderating virtual sessions or facilitating in-person training, my role is wonderfully diverse. But what excites me most is the opportunity to help others on their own career growth journeys. I get to raise awareness, offer guidance and showcase all the incredible resources and opportunities Takeda has to offer for growth and development. It’s also a global role, so I have the privilege of working with talented people from around the world. Takeda’s team is truly exceptional—I feel lucky to collaborate with such inspiring individuals.
What are some accomplishments you’re proud of in your role?
First and foremost, I’m proud to be part of a great team. I’ve been with Global Learning for eight years now, and there’s so much to reflect on. One of our most recent accomplishments is the launch of “Projects” on Career Navigator, our internal talent marketplace. Career Navigator offers personal recommendations—based on your profile and career growth goals—for positions, mentoring, learning opportunities and now, projects. It’s incredibly rewarding to play a part in fostering Takeda’s culture of lifelong learning.
How has Takeda encouraged you to step outside your comfort zone?
That’s a great question! I truly believe growth happens when we step outside our comfort zone. For me, the push has come through embracing new technology. Becoming an early adopter of innovations has required me to stretch myself and adapt quickly, but it’s been worth it.
