Learn about Takeda in Ireland
Takeda has a 240-year history of providing better health for people worldwide through leading innovation in medicine. We have an unwavering dedication to our patients and our employees are committed to improving quality of life and providing world class innovation and services across our four locations: Baggot Street, Bray, Citywest and Grange Castle.
Takeda's presence in Ireland was established in 1997 and our Irish operations have played a key role in our global leadership in rare diseases, oncology and gastroenterology. Since beginning commercial operations, Takeda Ireland has grown in strength thanks to substantial investment in our people and industry-leading technology.
In Ireland, we have grown into a team of over 900 people, representing more than 30 nationalities and serving markets around the world. Our employees work across Commercial Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Corporate Services, and they all share our purpose of bringing better health for people and a brighter future for the world.
Delivering on Sustainability
Our obligation to environmental stewardship and sustainable business directly aligns with our values of Takeda-ism and Patient-Trust-Reputation-Business. In this way, environmental stewardship becomes one more way that we work to fulfil our vision and our purpose of building better health for people and a brighter future for the world.
In Ireland, our manufacturing sites use 100% renewable energy and are working towards a carbon neutral future. A zero-carbon roadmap is currently in place for both Bray and Grange Castle, managed by their Carbon Abatement Programmes. This roadmap includes internal energy conservation measures, procurement of green energy, investment in renewable energy certificates, and high-quality verified carbon offsets. Additionally, we have a partnership with the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan to try to create an Ireland where pollinators can survive and thrive.
To help support employees on their sustainability journey, we have increased our electric vehicle charging capacity across all four sites, retrofitting parking spaces with charging ports where needed.
