Job Description

The Head of FP&A and Innovation plays a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy and innovation agenda of the EUCAN Finance organization. This leader will drive value creation through advanced analytics, digital finance transformation, and strategic planning, while fostering a high-performing, innovative and collaborative team culture aligned with Takeda’s values, coupled with a profound understanding of the EUCAN pharma markets and key business drivers. A core mission of this role is to lead innovation by radically simplifying and harmonizing financial processes, and by embedding cutting-edge technologies — especially AI — to transform how Finance delivers insight, drives performance, and creates value.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Leadership Financial Planning & Reporting

- Lead the FP&A function across EUCAN, ensuring robust planning, forecasting, and performance management.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to co-drive investment decisions, cost optimization, and long-range planning.
- Translate financial insights into actionable strategies that support business growth and operational efficiency.

Innovation & Digital Transformation

- Champion the adoption of AI, machine learning, and digital tools to modernize financial processes and decision-making.
- Drive initiatives that streamline low-value activities and introduce high-value, data-driven solutions.
- Implement new ways of working through AI in financial forecasting / planning and reporting to enhance accuracy, agility, and strategic foresight.
- Streamline and simplify the financial reporting process to deliver timely, relevant, and actionable reports and analysis that support decision-making and improve performance.
- Lead the harmonization of financial systems, tools, and reporting standards across EUCAN Finance to reduce complexity, eliminate duplication, and enable scalable, tech-enabled solutions.
- Act as a catalyst for innovation by embedding a mindset of continuous improvement and digital-first thinking across all finance activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed digital finance capabilities across the organization.

People Leadership

- Build and lead a diverse, high-performing team with a strong culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Develop succession plans and talent pipelines to ensure long-term organizational capability.
- Inspire and empower teams to embrace innovation and deliver superior results.
- Develop new skills and capabilities within the Finance team to fully leverage AI and emerging technologies, ensuring the organization remains future-ready and competitive.
- Foster a culture of simplification and innovation, where teams are encouraged to challenge the status quo and co-create smarter, faster, and more impactful ways of working.

DIMENSIONS AND ASPECTS

- Proven experience in managing and leading finance reporting and innovation processes across multiple LOCs / region
- Strong cross-functional exposure, especially collaboration with digital finance.
- Demonstrated success in leading change initiatives in financial reporting & analysis and delivering measurable business impact.
- Deep understanding of financial planning, analytics, and digital technologies.

Organizational Impact

This role is a key member of the EUCAN Finance leadership team and a potential successor to CFOs for large countries and/or Regions. It is instrumental in shaping the future of finance at Takeda by aligning financial excellence with bold innovation, operational simplification, and enterprise-wide digital transformation.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Experience in managing teams across multiple countries as well as multicultural experience
  • Experience in commercial Finance roles, ideally as Country FD, cross functional exposure, and COE Finance experience, preferably with prior experience in regional consolidation
  • Strong understanding of LOC financial reporting processes and structures
  • High level of integrity, resilience, and adaptability. Uphold the Takeda value of Integrity, ensuring all actions are ethical and transparent.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with peers and EUCAN stakeholders to influence and transform Financial Planning.
