Job Description
About the role
Join Takeda as a Senior Manager, US Medical Communications and Scientific Training (MCST)– Gastroenterology (GI) where you will support the development and execution of the MCST strategy across the GI portfolio. You will also be actively involved in content generation for Scientific Training and Field Medical resources. As part of the Scientific Communications and Strategic Alliances team, you will report to the Director, US Medical Communications and Scientific Training. This is a hybrid position based in Lexington, MA.
How you will contribute
You will interact with key internal stakeholders, which may include members of the US MCST team and other functional medical partners such as Medical Directors, Field Medical, Medical Information, Program Management; other USBU Stakeholders; and Global functional groups such as Medical Communications and Scientific Training.
You will liaise with vendors for activities related to assigned assets.
You will support the development and maintenance of the Scientific Training Curriculum and Scientific Training Plans and ensure all training content is housed in appropriate repositories.
Support execution of key Medical Communications tactics and activities, in an independent manner, closely coordinated with the Director, US Medical Communications and Scientific Training.
Scientific Training Development and Execution:
Support the design, development, and delivery of scientific and disease/product training programs and curricula for Medical Affairs teams, including MSLs and other internal stakeholders in alignment with Takeda’s Scientific Training Business Rules and aligned processes.
Create and maintain the annual Scientific Training Plan for GI.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop content that reflects the latest scientific data and aligns with US Medical’s goals.
Regularly update materials to incorporate advancements in Takeda’s therapeutic areas and products.
Facilitate the execution of engaging and effective training sessions (e.g., workshops, virtual training, and e-learning).
Develop innovative training channels to support different learner preferences
Monitor learning outcomes through assessments and evaluations to ensure program effectiveness.
Medical Communications Responsibilities:
Support medical communications needs in GI as needed to develop externally-facing resources that are compliant and scientifically rigorous
Team Collaboration:
Partner with cross-functional teams to align training with organizational objectives.
Support the development of external resources for the Field and Medical Communication activities associated with congresses as needed.
Maintain strong communication channels to meet the scientific training needs of stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
Required
Advanced degree (i.e., MPH, MS, Ph.D., MD, or PharmD) in a biosciences discipline
3+ years of related experience at a pharmaceutical company or a medical communications agency
2+ years in medical affairs including roles in medical communication function
Successful track record of developing scientific training programs or delivering technical/scientific content
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience with resource allocation and vendor and budget management
Strong organizational and project management skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities
Effective interpersonal skills to build relationships and collaborate across teams
Competence in scientific data interpretation and the development of learning solutions
Preferred
Experienced in Articulate software (i.e., RISE and 360) and Veeva Systems (i.e., Vault, Promomats)
Understanding pharmaceutical clinical development and product life-cycle management
Strong self-motivation and enthusiasm with demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly detail-oriented environment
Ability to develop strategic messaging and strong knowledge of pharmaceutical standards, compliance, and regulations
Strong experience in writing scientific communication decks, reports, materials for educational activities
Travel Requirements
Ability to travel up to 10% to various professional meetings, conferences, and client sites – limited overnight. Some international travel may be required.

Lexington, MAU.S. Base Salary Range:
$150,500.00 - $236,500.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
