Job Description
Takeda is seeking aSenior Manager, Medical Therapy Area Leadto shape and execute the Medical Affairs strategy forGastroenterologyandHereditary Angioedema (HAE)across theEast Gulf and Levantcluster. This is themost senior individual contributor rolewithin the local Medical Affairs organization, reporting directly to theCountry Medical Head.
We are looking for a seasoned medical leader with a strongimmunology background, ideally with experience inRares Diseases or Gastroenterology who can lead through scientific excellence, strategic thinking, and cross‑functional influence—without direct line management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Define and lead theMedical Affairs strategyand medical communication plans for GI and HAE across the cluster.
Provide expert medical input intoevidence generation, clinical research, and real‑world data initiatives.
Build and maintain high‑quality, compliant relationships withKOLs, HCPs, regulators, payers, scientific societies, and patient organizations.
Leadadvisory boards, scientific collaborations, and publicationsthat influence clinical practice and patient pathways.
Act as asenior medical signatoryfor promotional and non‑promotional activities, ensuring alignment with Takeda’s Code of Conduct, PV requirements, SOPs, and local regulations.
Contribute Medical Affairs leadership toproduct registration, formulary inclusion, and launch readinessin close collaboration with cross‑functional partners.
Drive continuous improvement in Medical Affairs processes and optimize the use ofdigital and virtual engagement tools.
Qualifications & Experience
Medical degree:MD, PharmD, PhD (or equivalent)required; relevant postgraduate qualification strongly preferred.
Strongimmunology foundationis essential, with experience in at least one of: Gastroenterology / Dermatology or Rheumatology
Minimum10 years’ professional experience, including at least5–6 years in Medical / Scientific Affairswithin a reputable mid‑ to large‑sized pharmaceutical or biotechnology company.
Demonstrated experience working acrossmultiple countriesand diverse healthcare systems.
Proven track record indriving medical strategy, leading complex cross‑functional initiatives, and engaging senior external stakeholders.
