Job Description
About the role:
As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you will perform daily checks and maintenance on facility equipment and systems, while following cGMP standards and corporate safety policies. You will operate and maintain plant utility systems under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor in a rotating shift environment.
How you will contribute:
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of plant equipment, including high pressure steam boilers; chillers; heating/cooling air handling units; process waste treatment systems; CIP equipment; water purification system (water softening and carbon bed filtration, reverse osmosis equipment, deionization equipment, sanitary pumps, multi-effect distillation equipment); tank mixers; air compressors and dryers; and chilled water distribution systems.
Specify and complete vendor search for electrical, mechanical, and piping materials to fabricate and install modifications and complete repairs on equipment; provide maintenance services and technical assistance to all departments.
Respond to service calls and conduct repairs throughout the facility.
You will determine methods and procedures on new assignments
May assist with direct contract service providers in the Supervisors absence.
Work with all departments, at the technical level. May work directly with Facilities Management by providing feedback for establishing or modifying work practices and assisting in the development of schedules.
May be a team leader when multiple technicians are working on the same project.
Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned
What you bring to Takeda:
Two-year certificate in a technical field such as HVAC, building trades or building utilities program, or equivalent military experience.
7 to 10 years of maintenance experience.
Read technical manuals and wiring schematics, light computer skills.
Control circuits and must have basic pipe fitting skills.
Work on assignments that are complex where independent action and a high degree of initiative is required in resolving problems and developing recommendations.
Leadership - May assist the Supervisor by giving work and technical direction to other maintenance personnel when the Supervisor is unavailable. May serve as the ranking Facilities Department representative during weekend and off-shift hours and can notify management of issues. Expected to lead by example by displaying positive and professional behavior. •
Preferred a State of Minnesota, “1st Class” High Pressure Boiler Engineer License, Chiefs License
Important Considerations:
At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:
Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
Work in a cold, wet environment.
Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
