Job Description
Takeda’s Global Evidence & Outcomes (GEO) focuses on transforming healthcare by integrating innovative methodologies throughout the drug development process, from preclinical stages to post-approval. GEO plays a pivotal role in empowering business decisions by embedding robust evidence into health authority submissions, label strategies, and market access frameworks. GEO is committed to championing patient-centric outcomes and ensuring that patient voices are central to accelerating clinical development and treatment access.
Takeda’s GI2 Franchise focuses on research, development, and commercialization of multiple assets in various phases of their lifecycle management, addressing unmet medical needs with the potential of providing improved health outcomes among patients with a variety of gastrointestinal conditions.
Duties will include the following, under the manager's supervision
- Support internal activities like EGT team meetings in preparation of key program activities.
- Support the development and execution of key RWE studies for FY2026, which will be identified before the start of the internship
- Use of AI-enabled tools for efficiency in document process
- Become familiar with the Takeda R&D business structure within GEO and other key stakeholders for GI2
Interns will learn:
- How to apply pharmacoepidemiology methodologies to support key assets
- Approaches to solving real-world problems in drug development
- Methodologies in using real-world evidence (RWE) to help develop novel therapeutics with improved safety profiles.
Job Requirements:
- This position will be Hybrid and require 2-3 days in the Cambridge office per week.
- Must be pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biostatistics, Epidemiology or another relevant field
- Experience in applying statistical methodology to very large datasets for observational research
- Be acquainted with standard techniques of model training, validation, and characterization
- Have experience with generating interpretable models (e.g., SHAP analysis or similar), because the ultimate goal will be to bring useful insights back to drug-development teams who do not have this kind of background.
Internship Eligibility
- Must be authorized towork in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
- Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2026or later
- The internship program is 10-12 weeksdepending on the two start dates (May 26th-August 14thor June 15th- August 21st)
- The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames
- Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates
- Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

$21.00 - $46.00
The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
