About the role:

As a Software Developer in the Data and Integration space within the Plasma-Derived Therapies (PDT) business unit, you will focus on designing and developing comprehensive data integration solutions utilizing IICS Cloud Data Integration Services, Data Synchronization Service (DSS), Data Replication Service (DRS) etc. Your role also involves the optimization of solutions for performance, reliability, and scalability, while also implementing robust audit, monitoring, backup, and archival solutions to support data integrity and compliance. Collaborating closely with multiple stakeholders, you will translate business needs into effective technical solutions, maintaining continuous dialogue with both business and IT teams to ensure robustness, accuracy and consistency.

By designing and implementing sophisticated data integration solutions, this role directly contributes to PDT’s ability to harness data effectively, enhancing decision-making capabilities, and ultimately, competitive advantage in the market. You will be adopting cutting-edge technologies and methodologies which will help Takeda drive innovation, adapt to new opportunities, and continuously evolve in an ever-changing business/technological landscape.

This position will align to data & analytics chapter of the ICC and initially report to the PDT Delivery Lead for strategic direction as well as day-to-day management until the role of IICS Senior Software Developer for Data & Integration is filled within Takeda ICC. This is expected to be completed by Oct 2024, post which the reporting and managerial responsibilities will be transitioned accordingly.

How you will contribute:

• Design and develop data integration solutions using IICS Cloud Data Integration Services, Data Synchronization Service (DSS), Data Replication Service (DRS), Mappings and Task Flows to meet business requirements.
• Design and implement IICS Cloud Data Integration framework for end to end integration solution involving various services and advanced SQL queries
• Build and maintain efficient ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into effective integration solutions.
• Develop and implement audit, monitoring, backup and archival solutions
• Optimize data integration processes for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Identify and resolve data integration issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of integration processes, data flows, and system configurations.
• Conduct testing and validation to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Work closely with business and IT teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and availability across different systems.
• Create detailed documents in adherence to the SDLC standards ensuring timely submission of different documents for approvals across different stages of project implementation

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in data integration and ETL development, with a strong focus on IICS and in-depth experience with:
  • IICS - Cloud Data Integration Service
  • SQL
  • Unix / Shell Scripting
  • Scheduling Tools (Tidel, Control M, etc.)
  • Python
  • Data Modeling
• Proficiency in designing and implementing complex data integration solutions using IICS.
• Experience with various data sources, including databases, cloud platforms, and APIs
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
• Expert knowledge of SQL, Relational Databases, scripting in Linux/Unix environment etc.
• Should have worked in at least one RDBMS like Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, DB2.
• Should have good understanding of IICS parameterization, Rest API, Exception and Error handling methods and debugging
• Should have participated in at least 1 end-to-end data integration implementation for a cloud- based application like Salesforce.com, Redshift, Snowflake Datawarehouse, etc.
• Exposure to Agile application implementation methodology
• Knowledge of performance and code optimization techniques

Preferred requirements:

• Experience with advanced transformations like Hierarchy Builder, JSON/XML parser, Mapplet, Rank, Union, SQL
• Life science domain experience, building GxP compliance systems
