Role Core Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Develop, manage and lead the Medical Affairs team in the Country
- Work with GM define and secure the resources (staff, budget and capabilities) required to support GEM, and R&D
- Coordinate with Human Resources / Talent Management to recruit and retain Country medical team
- Ensure Shared Medical Services offerings are appropriately utilized in the Country and plans are in place in terms of future readiness
- Ensure diagnostics strategies are in place and PS programs are at the utmost quality and efficiency in line with PTRB approach
- Ensure Country team participates in required training and develops required competencies (e.g. skills training, disease area training, compliance and reporting training)
- Monitor and report Country team performance in terms of goals and delivery against in-year medical plans and field activity plans and identify areas for development
- Line manage and develop medical field team
- Define and oversee implementation of the Country budget
Oversee implementation of in-year GEM and disease area / product strategies in the Country
- Manage resource plan for the Country per strategy requirements
- Oversee in-year implementation of region’s and global strategies/plans in the Country
- Oversee development and implementation of field activity plans
- Supervise activities of Country team and manage allocation and budgets in coordination with GM and Region Head, to ensure quality and timely delivery against medical plans
Qualifications
- A medical degree is required
- >10 years of experience in biopharmaceutical medicine preferably served as a country medical head role
- Experience in diagnostic services and patient support program building
- Experience in clinical trials
- Experience in medical affairs is required
- Experience leading teams at the brand or disease area levels in country, regional or global organizations is required
- Experience in field-based roles (e.g. Medical Manager, Medical Science Liaison) is preferred
- Advanced level of English
