Job Description
Job Title: Production Planner
Location: Brooklyn Park, MN
About the role:
As a Production planner, you will coordinate the production of drug substance products and in house produced semi-finished goods while balancing plant efficiency, distribution, and inventory requirements. You will establish, manage, review, and communicate the master production plan to achieve site production objectives. You will be responsible for supporting the supply, storage, transportation, and distribution of equipment, materials, and goods within the organization. This role helps ensure efficient operations by applying core supply chain management principles and supporting various processes. You will report to Supply Chain Operations & Systems Improvement Manager.
How you will contribute:
- Generate, maintain, and facilitate executable production plans as well as review of Material Resource Planning and release of process orders.
- Monitor status of schedules. Communicate and help to resolve impact to delivery dates.
- Recognize, investigate, and resolve material and machine constraints
- Actively participate in daily production meetings and attend other associated meetings as required.
- Primary liaison between Supply Chain, Quality, Warehouse, and Manufacturing personnel to ensure schedule optimization and sales order on time delivery.
- Work with Production and Maintenance to support planning for preventative maintenance program to ensure that the manufacturing plan isn’t interrupted
- Support demand planning processes, understanding their impact on supply chain
- Clearly communicate complex data and Supply Chain analytics to Site Management and to drive business decisions.
- Identify opportunities for refinement of scheduling strategies and process improvement.
- Develop and take ownership for long and short-term capacity models to identify potential operational constraints.
- Complete mandatory training within required timeframe.
- Critical thinker with a focus on details when troubleshooting complex production systems.
- Resolve and de-escalate potential resource conflicts and issues before they impact production.
- Strong analytical abilities with techniques, unconditional commitment to teamwork and communication.
What you bring to Takeda:
- Bachelor’s degree Supply Chain or related field or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in planning/supply chain management or scheduling functions using MRP and/or an ERP system preferred.
- SAP ERP system knowledge in a GMP manufacturing facility strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Documented leadership ability in process improvement techniques to reduce costs, improve service levels and manage capacity.
Important Considerations:
At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:
- May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other clean room garments daily. This may include safety shoes, safety glasses, aprons, face shields, lab coats, full body gowns, hair nets and gloves and hearing protection.
- Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
- Work in a cold, wet environment.
- Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
- Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
- In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around the facility.
- Some travel may be required; less than 20%.

$56,000.00 - $88,000.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
