Job Description

About the role:

Join Takeda as HR Site Lead for Lessines and shape the people agenda in a major transformation environment.

How you will contribute:

Reporting to the Site Head, you will lead the HR agenda for our manufacturing site and act as a strategic partner to leaders to ensure transformation success and sustainable adoption. Key accountabilities include:

  • Partner closely with the Site Head to deliver the site people agenda: organization design, change execution, leadership alignment, and social dialogue.
  • Act as a core member of the Site Leadership Team (SLT), providing pragmatic, business-focused HR counsel to senior leaders.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on performance, culture, and key people decisions, ensuring full alignment with policies, governance, and legal frameworks.
  • Drive engagement through clear communication and consistent storytelling, aligning leaders on messages, expectations, and ways of working.
  • Shape and execute the site People Strategy, translating business priorities into agile HR plans that evolve with organizational change.
  • Embed a high-performance culture, strengthening feedback practices, performance management, succession planning, capability building, and workforce planning.
  • Act as a strong connector to Global HR, ensuring alignment on governance, reporting, best practices, and decision/escalation paths (two-way communication link).
  • Deploy global frameworks locally, adapting them to Belgian legal and organizational realities while simplifying and harmonizing HR processes across the site.
  • Use key people indicators (recruitment, engagement, turnover, absence, ER cases) to drive disciplined follow-up and sustained outcomes with the SLT.
  • Lead the site Benefits strategy in partnership with local and global Total Rewards / HR, ensuring competitive positioning.
  • Lead and develop the HRBP team (2–3 direct reports), setting clear priorities across daily operations and strategic projects.
  • Provide day-to-day matrix leadership to Payroll and People & Labor Relations, ensuring consistent support and proactive risk management (capability, engagement, retention, change).
  • Safeguard compliance with Belgian social law, internal policies, and audit requirements, minimizing legal, financial, and reputational risk.
  • Lead employee relations and social climate: participate in the Works Council and manage union relationships and negotiations.
  • Represent Lessines in the manufacturing network, contributing to and deploying global HR initiatives locally.
  • Build strong alignment with the Zaventem entity, establishing common practices where possible (e.g., benefits, processes, governance).

What you bring to Takeda:

  • You are an experienced senior HR leader and business partner, ready to take full accountability and drive change.
  • You are recognized as a change agent, with a proven track record of introducing new ways of working.
  • You have strong knowledge of Belgian Labor and Employment Law and proven experience building positive labor relations and constructive relationships with Works Councils.
  • You inspire and develop teams, and you deliver results through matrixed organizations.
  • You stand out for your interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, combined with cultural sensitivity.
  • You are a trusted advisor to leaders, translating business challenges into effective people solutions.
  • You build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and influence decisions using data, facts, and compelling presentations.
  • You are motivated to represent the site and actively contribute to a broader, international HR community.
  • You develop and lead HR and D&I initiatives, aligning people practices with business objectives.
  • You bring strong business acumen and commercial awareness, with strategic thinking, analytical/problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and timely decision-making.
  • You have experience in manufacturing environments with a diverse and complex workforce.
  • You have a university degree (Business, Human Resources, Labor Law, or Industrial/Organizational Psychology preferred).
  • You are fluent in business English and French (written and spoken).
