POSITION: Data Platform Engineer – GMSGQ
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Takeda Pharmaceuticals U.S.A. is seeking a Data Platform Engineer – GMSGQ with the following duties: Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract data from multiple applications, transform it into a usable format, and load it into data warehouses or databases; Implement automation for data pipeline tasks to ensure continuous and reliable data flow with minimal manual intervention; Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data retrieval, manipulation, and reporting purposes; Design cloud infrastructure and services and implement and configure cloud services, including computing, storage, and networking; Deploy, manage, and monitor applications on the cloud and ensure applications are running efficiently and effectively; Design and maintain database schemas, tables, and relationships to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval and optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and resource management; Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and implement authentication and authorization mechanisms for them; Write efficient and reusable Python scripts for various automation tasks and develop scripts for data processing, data migration, and system integration; Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to provide insights to stakeholders using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or custom SQL-based reports; Collaborate with data analysts and business users to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Up to 20% remote work allowed.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field plus 5 years of related experience. Prior experience must include: design database structures and schemas for SQL-based databases to efficiently store and retrieve data, meeting data requirements and business needs; create databases, including tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures, and optimize SQL scripts and indexing strategies for fast data retrieval; develop data pipelines using a variety of services to ensure smooth data flow using cloud technologies; implement REST principles for designing RESTful APIs using Python.
Full time. $177,341 - $228,000 per year. Competitive compensation and benefits.
